Misty Frederick-Ritz is the Academic Course Coordinator for the large-enrollment sections of:

- BA 342 - Responsible Leadership in Business
- MGMT 301 - Introduction to Management

Misty joined Penn State and Smeal College of Business in early 2020, just a few weeks before the pandemic hit and as a result, experienced many changes as classes were moved from in-person to online within a short amount of time. Since that time, she's seen course delivery methods morph and grow to meet the ever-changing needs of today's students.

Misty says the best parts of her job are working with a talented, compassionate, and dedicated team of instructors and supporting staff; getting to know and lead an amazing group of Teaching Assistants (TAs); and interacting with thousands of students each year.

Misty was a recipient of the 2023 Smeal Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching Support.

Prior to joining Penn State, Misty worked in the fields of marketing and communications for secondary education and program and project management for a non-profit organization.

Misty is a Mixed Media artist, and her work has been on display at Penn State and other gallery locations in Central PA. She's a certified creativity coach and particularly enjoys teaching people how to paint.

Misty lives in State College and loves spending time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite places to visit are the Finger Lakes Region of New York, the beaches of New Jersey, and Disneyworld.
