Ron Wagner is a C-suite executive skilled at creating organizational and shareholder value through marketing, communications, brand management, strategy and growth initiatives. Described as “a business athlete with CEO qualities”, his experience spans more than 30 years, including B2B and B2C, large and small organizations, and private equity and family-owned firms.

Prior to joining Smeal in March 2024 in his marketing and communications leadership role, he was the top marketing executive for multiple firms. In each role, he led marketing, brand-building, lead generation, sales support, and customer experience activities, including brand strategy, SEM, SEO, social media, employee communications and media relations. He has led sales teams and created new sales channels, along with leading digital customer experience and innovation initiatives.

Beyond the office, Ron has turned his passion for mentorship into purpose. For years, he has coached young professionals on how to best build, manage and market their personal brand for a rewarding life and career. His book, Relevant, Different, Better: 109 Bite-Size Tips, Insights and Lessons to Help You Stand Up and Stand Out, has allowed him to broaden his impact, and he frequently speaks on the topic.

Ron holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Penn State, where he has served on several advisory boards, is a respected guest lecturer, and advisor to student business start-ups.
