Whitney Chirdon joined the eLDIG team as an instructional designer in December 2022. She has an extensive background in communications and project management. Chirdon worked for over 15 years in public broadcasting with WPSU (PBS/NPR), producing, directing, and hosting broadcast programming. She also worked at Georgia Public Broadcasting in Atlanta, producing and directing a live daily news talk show for NPR. Before joining Smeal, she worked with the College of the Liberal Arts as the communications director at the School of Public Policy and the Rock Ethics Institute. Chirdon holds a bachelor's degree in media studies and French and a minor in women's studies from Penn State. She is an adjunct instructor at the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, teaching undergraduate audio news production and news writing classes.
