Jason D. Kotter is an Assistant Professor in the finance department at the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University. His research examines executive compensation, corporate governance, and systemic risk-taking and is published in the Journal of Financial Economics.

Jason received his PhD in finance from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 2014. He also holds an MA in economics from the University of Michigan and a BA in economics from Brigham Young University. Prior to earning his PhD, he worked as a research assistant in the international finance division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
